About Me -Brian Ford
Hello. I’m Brian Ford.
I’m a technical instructor who has worked in the Internet technology and cybersecurity world for over 30 years. During that time, I constantly learned about new solutions and technologies and often helped explain new tech to different audiences. That’s what I do now: As a technical instructor, I help people understand technology to advance and achieve their career goals.
As a technology coach, I primarily work with managers and executives who are interested in earning advanced certifications such as CASP+, CISM, or CISSP, but prefer to avoid prerequisite courses or attending classes, whether in person or online. Many of my clients express that they struggle with learning; some believe they have ADHD, while others may not have completed their secondary education. I collaborate with clients to develop tailored methods and plans that enable them to achieve their learning goals and successfully obtain their technical certifications.
Many individuals who have worked diligently to obtain a certification face challenges in maintaining it. Most technical certifications require renewal every three years, during which candidates must provide evidence of continuing education activities. I advise clients about ways to keep their credentials and still have a life.
I’m also a researcher. I’m a lifelong learner interested in how networks and the Internet work. I’m also fascinated by how tech can be broken. My areas of research include:
- Web browser security
- Vulnerability management
- Security awareness
I belong to several professional organizations and their chapters, including InfraGard, ISC2, and ISACA. I look forward to traveling to and attending a few technical conferences in interesting venues each year.
